Smart City Advisory Group (SCAG)


The Smart City Advisory Group (SCAG) is a group composed of individual experts, specialists from the fields of technology, industry and public administrations, including representatives of the Green Digital Charter member cities, as well as international experts.

The aim of the SCAG is to:
•    Advise the iURBAN Steering Committee by providing input to the technical and scientific direction of the project;
•    Ensure that the iURBAN project is linked to other similar projects and initiatives and;
•    Foster the exchange of knowledge and Best Practices among individuals involved in projects and organizations in the Smart City arena.

The SCAG is conceived to be a convenient knowledge sharing platform. To this end, members of the SCAG are motivated to share their expertise through various channels by:
•    Completing periodic questionnaires related to iURBAN developments
•    Meeting up at Smart City events
•    Contributing to the iURBAN Newsletter

The SCAG is chaired by S&C.

Invitation to Apply for Membership

The iURBAN project Consortium is inviting applications from specialists from the fields of technology, industry and public administrations, including representatives of the Green Digital Charter member cities, as well as international experts for membership in the Smart City Advisory Group (SCAG)

The aim of the SCAG is to advise the iURBAN Steering Committee by providing input to the technical and scientific direction of the project and ensure that iURBAN is linked to other similar projects and initiatives. Members agree to exploit potential synergies between the iURBAN project and their own body of knowledge and institutions.

The documents and other contributions produced by the SCAG and the project partners will be shared among the iURBAN community, including public authorities, industry and other stakeholders, who will be actively involved by validating project results and by providing contributions to be shared among the community.

The Smart City Advisory Group (SCAG) meets once a year in person during the iURBAN project Consortium annual meeting or by teleconference and on an ongoing basis on special tasks. Members serve on a voluntary basis during a three-year term.

As a SCAG member you will:

  • ensure that iURBAN is linked to other similar projects/initiatives
  • foster the exchange of knowledge and Best Practices among individuals involved in projects and organizations in the Smart City arena
  • contribute to the publication of articles in the iURBAN newsletter and periodic publications of the project
  • collaborate and participate in the organisation of events: workshops, conferences and other collaboration actions
  • have your company/city logo displayed on all relevant iURBAN project material i.e. website, newsletter, event banners, etc.
  • benefit from international recognition as a model city/organization
  • meet potential partners for collaborating under the new funding scheme Horizon 2020
