Location: University of Coimbra, Portugal
Date: 8.&9.September 2016
The conference was held at the University of Coimbra and is jointly organised by the Energy for Sustainability Initiative of the University of Coimbra (EfS-UC) and the Portuguese Agency for Energy (ADENE), member of the European Energy Network (EnR).
iURBAN project was presented by Fraunnhofer ISE with the presentation and the paper titled “Changing behaviours for demand response in an eco-community” by authors: Kristin Goldbach, Antje Salup, Andrew Peacock, Edward Owens, Sebastian Gölz.
Research on behaviours associated with energy use plays a fundamental role to achieve more sustainable energy systems, in face of challenges such as security of supply, climate change and evolution to the smart grids. Behave 2016 aims to bring together researchers and practitioners involved in end-use energy efficiency to share recent research, new technological developments and best practices on understanding and influencing behaviour related to energy efficiency. The communications to be presented by more than two hundred participants cover a wide range of topics including instruments, interventions and evaluation of behaviour changes to promote sustainable energy behaviours, adoption and use of low carbon technologies, behavioural potential to facilitate the smart grid and demand response, end-use energy efficiency in buildings and organisations, behaviour in transport and mobility, behaviour integration into energy modelling, multidisciplinary approaches to energy behaviours, behavioural economics and energy policies for promoting behaviour change.
