iURBAN Архитектура на платформата


 is composed by three main blocks:

  • Local Decision Support System (LDSS),
  • Centralised Decision Support System (CDSS)
  • Smart Decision Support System (smartDSS).

The three blocks communicate between them in order to provide a set of outputs on the one hand with the CDSS to energy companies, municipalities and other public authorities and on the other hand with the LDSS, to public and private customers. smartDSS consists in a set of components (smart algorithms, demand response, etc.) that are used both for the LDSS and CDSS.

At these ones components are added two more that complete the overall architecture:

  • Virtual Power Plant (VPP)
  • Smart City DataBase (SCDB)

VPP carries out aggregation of metered energy demand and generation data at apartment / building levels in order to provide aggregation data at district and city level. Furthermore the VPP, thanks to its own calculation engine that is able to generate simulation data in which the user (the CDSS end user) can create fictitious scenarios in which introduces additional distributed energy resources (DER), electricity storage, electric vehicles etc., at building and/or city/district level.

The Smart City DataBase (SCDB) contains the database of iURBAN. It provides functionalities to import data from external sources and additionally provides interfaces for accessing energy related data collected from the main modules of iURBAN (LDSS, CDSS, smartDSS and VPP).

The SCDB includes a special module, which allow access to data externally following the privacy and security policy of iURBAN.

LDSS – Local Decision Support System

It engages consumers and prosumers by capturing near real-time data related to their energy consumption, as well as energy production from their installed Distributed Energy Resources

CDSS – Centralised Decision Support System:

It aggregates data from all LDSSs to provide city-level decision support to authorities and energy service providers. The CDSS generates a number of parameters, including city-wide energy production and consumption forecasts.

smartDSS Smart Decision Support System:

  1. a tool to measure, predict and balance energy production, demand and storage and
  2. a tool to measure and verify reductions in energy consumption and GHG Emissions resulting from city energy use

VPP – Virtual Power Plant:
